Christopher Cahill guides businesses to optimize their relationships with vendors, customers, and lenders for enhanced market presence, returns, and liquidity. He acts as outside general counsel for a heat-treating company that serves the automobile manufacturing supply chain and fulfills a similar role for an executive producer of feature films, television shows, and documentaries. He also leads the Bankruptcy Law Practice Group at AEGIS Law, drawing on his experience in a similar role at L&G Law Group, LLC. — where he represented principally lenders and creditor manufacturers and commodity suppliers – and his career’s first half at national law firms representing mega-debtors, asset purchasers, and most categories of creditors.

The Bankruptcy Law Practice Group handles matters I chapter 11 cases, as well as more general corporate restructuring scenarios, such as workouts, loan forbearance, assignments for the benefit of creditors, and UCC Article 9 foreclosure sales.

Cahill has published extensively on the matters referred to above. He is the sole author of the second edition of “Illinois Practice: Uniform Commercial Code Forms Annotated,” a treatise annually updated and published by West. He co-authors “The Law of Debtors and Creditors,” also a treatise annually updated and published by West. From 2014 and 2022, Cahill was Executive Editor for the annually updated treatise “Commercial Bankruptcy Litigation,” also published by West, for which he co-authored the substantive introductory chapter and the chapter on purchasing assets out of bankruptcy cases. In addition, Cahill has published several dozen papers on restructuring topics, served as panelist or moderator on 90 webinars, and hosted a similar number of podcasts on general business and investing topics and personalities.

Cahill has donated his time to his hometown of Chicago, including by serving on the Board of Directors for “Lawyers Land a Hand to Youth,” a Chicago-based organization providing tutoring to grade school children from disadvantaged communities. He has also held board positions with the TUTA Theatre Company and Baroque Band. His diverse interests include film subtitling projects, collaborating on the English translation of a Lithuanian book about a prominent contemporary artist, and hitting baseballs.
