Who is Maximilian Raileanu

Max is an associate attorney based in Austin, Texas. Licensed to practice in both Colorado and Texas, Max has supported attorneys and clients in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations. He’s passionate about national and international case law, evidenced by his time spent as an international arbitration legal intern for the London office of WilmerHale. When it comes to international arbitration, Max acknowledges that it often comes down to convincing nations to relinquish a degree of sovereignty in order for the field to function properly. He finds this complexity fascinating and would most like to help those clients navigate these complexities.

Driven by a deep sense of duty to the public, Max’s work in local government primarily inspired his interest in law. He began his career as an intern at the County Commissioner’s Office in Jefferson County, Colorado, before graduating to roles at the Colorado Senate Majority Office and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts in Washington, D.C. He has also served as an associate and contract attorney for firms throughout the Austin area. Max hopes to one day pursue public office.

When he’s not working or studying, Max enjoys weight training, scuba diving, hiking, cooking, and cheering on the New York Giants and Texas Longhorns. He’s also a serious history buff and is currently reading Winston Churchill’s personal accounts of WWI and WWII.

Max is pursuing an LLM in international corporate and commercial law at the King’s College London Dickson Poon School of Law. He graduated cum laude from the American University Washington College of Law, where he  served as the senior note & comment editor of the American University Business Law Review. He studied International Affairs at the University of Colorado Boulder.Max’s commitment to the public good extends to his volunteer work, too. He has worked or signed up to work with Texas Volunteer Legal Services, the Lone Survivor Foundation, the Austin Young Lawyers Association Community Service Committee, the Austin Parks Foundation, the Wounded Warrior Project, and the Ronald McDonald House, among many others.
