Before joining AEGIS Law, John ran his own law firm in Sarasota, where he served as corporate counsel to mid-sized businesses and advised them on matters including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, purchases, sales and loans, employment law and other business transactional matters.

After receiving an L.L.M. in tax law from the University of Florida, John started his legal career at a firm that was later acquired by Shutts & Bowen. Before and after that change, he represented corporations on matters including taxation and tax structuring, real estate, finance, business formation and corporate transactions.

While attending college and law school, John started and ran a charter fishing business for more than two years. Today, John is an avid fisherman and boater with a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain license, and certification as a SCUBA diver from the National Association of Underwater Instructors.
