AEGIS LAW AREAS OF PRACTICE

Estate & Tax Planning

AEGIS Law’s tax and estate law attorneys have one mission—ensuring that our clients are on solid financial and legal ground now and in the future. In doing so, their work encapsulates AEGIS Law’s values: They succeed by having integrity, always learning, and innovating. They know their work has a positive impact on their clients’ businesses and lives, and, because of that, coming to work is fun. And when those are the things that characterize an attorney’s day, our clients reap a clear benefit. Their attorneys are more knowledgeable, more insightful, and more engaged.

In our tax practice, our attorneys work on transactional tax issues, such as ensuring that our e-commerce clients are in full compliance with the collection and levying of customers’ taxes. Our lawyers also work in the administration of property tax, labor-related tax issues (e.g., employee retirement), and state and local taxation (SALT). And if the need arises, our tax attorneys represent clients in tax controversy, appearing before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or Department of Labor proceedings.

Just as our tax practice protects what our clients have built, so, too, does our estate practice.

A full-service estate law firm, our services include: preparing estate plans; evaluating potential tax liability arising out of lifetime gifts and inheritance; preparing revocable trusts, wills, business transfers; and drafting transfer documents such as Powers of Attorney. They provide the full range of probate and trust administration services for individual and corporate executors, including accounting, tax preparation services, asset custody, and estate dispute litigation.

Our estate planning attorneys also specialize in multi-generational wealth planning, establishing charitable trusts and foundations, and the development of business succession plans.
