AEGIS Law is proud to welcome Otto K. Hilbert, II to the firm. Otto is a trial and appellate lawyer with more than 36 years of first-chair experience, and his arrival meaningfully deepens the bench of our litigation practice group.
For our litigation clients, this is a real addition of senior firepower. Otto has tried cases in 23 states and argued before courts at every level. His practice centers on complex commercial litigation along with white collar and securities defense, where he has gone toe to toe with federal and state regulators, including the SEC, and prevailed. With Otto on the team, AEGIS is positioned to take on bet-the-company disputes, high-stakes regulatory matters, and first-chair trial work for clients across the country, not just in Colorado.
To support this expansion, AEGIS is opening a second office in the Denver area. The new location gives our growing Colorado team room to scale and gives clients in the region another convenient point of contact. It reflects a simple reality: our presence in the Rocky Mountain market is growing, and we are investing to meet the demand.
Otto built his reputation at international and super-regional firms, with prior partnerships at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren, and Robinson Waters & O’Dorisio. He is admitted in Colorado, Wisconsin, and Arizona, and before multiple federal circuits, and he has served as an arbitrator for FINRA.
His recognitions reflect that record. Otto holds Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating, the highest peer rating available, has been repeatedly named a Super Lawyer, and has been selected among America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators, an invitation-only group representing less than half of one percent of attorneys nationwide.
Beyond the courtroom, Otto is a former Chair of the Colorado Judicial Institute and has held positions on more than 42 local and national boards. He earned his law degree from the University of Colorado and his undergraduate degree in Classical Literature and Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame, where he played varsity football. He has lectured at the law schools of the University of Denver, the University of Colorado, and the University of Notre Dame.
Otto keeps one line close: the moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends toward justice. That sense of purpose, paired with decades of hard-won judgment, is exactly what our clients rely on. Welcome to AEGIS, Otto.
