Who is Mark Wilson?
Mark comes from an entrepreneurial family and believes entrepreneurs are the backbone of the economy. His goal is to help his clients accomplish their business goals, be they tax savings or strategic mergers and acquisitions—and he brings to every transaction a calm, thoughtful demeanor, even amid chaos. A proud military veteran, Mark continues his service through time devoted to organizations in his community.
Mark has had a wide-ranging career, working at the U.S. Department of Justice, law firms, and in the financial services sector. He focuses his current practice on contracts, corporate matters, tax, real estate, and securities law. His clients include securities brokers, high-net-worth individuals, and businesses running the gamut from start-ups to emerging growth companies to well-established companies.
A commercial pragmatist, Mark knows how to handle thorny legal issues related to tax liabilities with both the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state taxing authorities. He also supports clients engaging in bid protests related to government contracts, in maintaining compliance with Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR), and in securing certification for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) status.
Mark relishes the opportunity to work with clients who know where they want to go but need legal guidance to safeguard the proceeds of their hard work. He helps them stay within the bounds of regulatory frameworks regarding corporate governance, consumer protection, and mortgage foreclosure.
After earning his Eagle Scout rank and completing his undergraduate studies, Mark served in the Michigan Army National Guard for three years. When he’s not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his daughter and playing chess. Mark is also a cigar aficionado.
